We understand that providing an exceptional listening experience requires more than just installing a system — it requires the right tools, training, and ongoing support. That’s why we’ve created this Venue Success Kit to help you and your team every step of the way.

Our goal is to provide clear, easy-to-follow instructions for installing, operating, and troubleshooting the Auri™ system.

Set Up the Auri™ System

 

  1. Power on the Auri™ TX2N Transmitter
    1. Ensure the transmitter is powered on. 
    2. Verify that the LED power indicator light is solid green. 

2. Power on the Auri™ RX-1 Receiver

  1. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, the LED indicator will be solid white. 
  2. Note: The receiver will turn on automatically when removed from any of our docking stations of when the USB power is unplugged. 

3. Connect to Audio Using a Venue-Provided Receiver

  1. The receiver will scan for available broadcasts when powered on (channels): if no broadcasts are found, it will be indidicated on the screen. 
  2. Plug headphones, an ear speaker, earbuds, or compatible neck loop into the jack on the receiver. 
  3. Press the right “scan/select” button on the front to search for another broadcast channel. Use the front button to connect to the highlighted broadcast. 
  4. Adjust the volume by using the volume up/down buttons on the side of the receiver. 
  5. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to power off. 

What Is Auracast™

Auracast™ broadcast audio is a new Bluetooth® capability that will deliver life-changing audio experiences. It will let you share your audio, unmute your world, and hear your best, enhancing the way you engage with others and the world around you.

Guests with Auracast-Compatible Devices

Guests Using Hearing Aids with Auracast™ Broadcast Audio Compatability

  1. Instruct them to switch their hearing aid to “Auracast” mode via the device or the assistant interface/phone app. 
  2. Ensure they are within the broadcast range. 
  3. Use the assistant (typically a phone app) to connect to the desired broadcast or channel. 

Guests Using a Personal Device (Smartphone):

  1. Have them open the Auracast™ Bluetooth® settings on their device.
  2. Select the preferred audio channel name from the available list. 
  3. Adjust the volume using the device controls.

Promote Auri™ Availability - For Awareness and Compliance

Assistive listening signage is a typical part of most legislative compliance. It also informs customers that a system is available to improve their experience. Businesses that display assistive listening signage must have a working system and meet all other legal requirements to comply with local accessibility and accommodation laws.

Available Signage – 

Clear, visible assistive listening signage isn’t just good practice—it’s the law in many regions, including the United States under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Proper signage ensures that visitors know assistive listening systems are available, empowering them to participate fully in events, tours, performances, and meetings.

Signage serves two critical purposes:

  • Awareness: Helps guests identify where assistive listening systems are offered and how to access them.

  • Compliance: Meets legal requirements for public venues, reducing the risk of accessibility violations and penalties.

Whether you operate a theater, house of worship, conference center, or manufacturing facility, posting compliant assistive listening signs is an essential part of creating an inclusive space.

The International Symbol for Assistive Listening

Assistive listening systems and devices can change a mediocre experience in a venue to an enjoyable one. Assistive listening systems deliver the audio directly to a device or smartphone without amplifying ambient background noise.  

When a business provides an assistive listening system for its customers, guests, and patrons, there must be a way to let them know. Consequently, this is where the international symbol for deafness comes in. This icon on a sign at entrances and near guest services and ticket windows informs guests and audiences that a hearing augmentation system is available.

This symbol is required on signage for compliance with the International Building Code (IBC), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the National Building Code of Canada (NBC), and the California Building Code (CBC) to promote the availability of communication access for those with hearing loss.

Auri™ Software Manager

Auri Manager is a software application for managing the Auri assistive listening system from Ampetronic and Listen Technologies, the first complete Auracast™ solution built on the new Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast standard.

 

The application automatically discovers transmitters, docks, and docked receivers on the network. Devices can be individually configured or grouped by location to simplify large system management. Users receive notifications for key events and status changes, and firmware updates (v1.4) can be downloaded and pushed to devices over the network.

FAQ's - Common Questions & Answers

Q: How do we know if guests can connect with their hearing aids? 

A: Most guests will know if their hearing aids are Auracast™ compatible; all major manufacturers are developing them with Auracast™ broadcast audio. If they are compatible, the hearing aids will automatically detect the signal once the switch is turned on via the hearing aid or app assistant.

Q: What if the guest’s device doesn’t support Auracast™ broadcast audio?

A: They can use a venue-provided Auri™ receiver with a neck loop to connect to their telecoil hearing aid or use a different compatible Bluetooth® device such as earbuds or headphones.

Q: How far is the broadcast range?

A: The Auri™ broadcast range typically covers up to [verify with PM, meters, and feet] in an open space, but the range can vary depending on interference and building materials.

Q: How many people can connect at once?

A: Auri™ supports an unlimited number of simultaneous connections that are within range without audio quality loss.

Q: What’s the best way to test the system before an event?

A: Connect a personal device such as headphones or earbuds or an Auri™ receiver to confirm sound clarity and signal strength.
